Miami Dade College to Host Panel on Social Lending May 23
Miami, May 22, 2013 -
As part of its Changemaker Series, Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Wolfson Campus will host a panel on social lending, titled Puddle: Lending Goes Social. This social entrepreneurship forum will take place at noon Thursday, May 23, in Room 6100.
The three panelists, who include Matt Flannery, Kiva co-founder; Jean Claude Rodriguez-Ferrera, Puddle co-founder; and Salomon Raydan, the founder of Fundefir, will offer key insights on how to bank using social media.
Puddle.io is an innovative social banking platform that aims to revolutionize the banking industry through technology and innovation. It facilitates the creation of a line of credit by obtaining the financing from a pool of trusted friends on Facebook. It allows participants to set the rules for paying back the loan, creating an alternative online banking and credit system. The forum will focus on social impact, technology, and early-stage startups. During the session, participants will be able to test the platform and create their own banks!
This is the first of many events at Miami Dade College that are part of the Changemaker Series.
