Miami, August 21, 2013 - Miami Dade College (MDC) will raise its new official college flag at a ceremony at 10:30 a.m., Wed., Sept. 4, at the Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami, where MDC’s president and other dignitaries will be in attendance. The new flag will also be simultaneously raised at the college’s seven other campuses.

More than a piece of material, flags fly beyond language and visually symbolize something that is greater than the sum of its parts. In the spirit of “one college and one vision,” MDC has created a new flag to be flown at all eight campuses. The new flag has eight stripes representing the college’s eight campuses and its logo in the center.

This ceremony marks the flag’s debut. Wolfson Student Government President Michelle Ampie will join MDC President Dr. Eduardo J. Padrón in raising the new flag.
