Miami Dade College to Host Financial Planning Days Oct. 21 - 22

Miami, October 15, 2013 - Miami Dade College(MDC) will host Miami Financial Planning Days on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 21 – 22, at the Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami. This event is free and open to all. Free parking is available for attendees.

Attendees will receive information that is provided on a pro-bono basis by experts from the Financial Planning Association and highly qualified Certified Financial Planner™ professionals. There are no strings attached - volunteering financial planners will not pass out business cards, marketing materials or sell products or services.  In addition to the one-on-one consultations, there will be workshops on a variety of financial topics, including: understanding your credit and debt, money management, retirement planning and investing basics.

“Financial literacy and planning are very important for many in our community, as it empowers them to make sound decisions,” said Dr. José A. Vicente, Wolfson Campus president. “We are proud to partner with the City of Miami to provide this service.”

Miami Financial Planning Days is presented by the City of Miami and Financial Planning Association Chapter of Miami, as part of a national Financial Planning Days initiative created by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Financial Planning Association, and the Foundation for Financial Planning and U.S. Conference of Mayors.
