Miami Dade College DREAMer Student to Attend State of the Union Address Tonight

Miami, January 28, 2014 -

Mayra Rubio Limón, a student at Miami Dade College (MDC), will attend tonight’s State of the Union address in Washington, D.C. She is attending as a special guest of MDC alumnus United States Congressman Joe Garcia.

"The opportunity to live in the U.S., to work hard, get a good education and provide a decent life for my family and me, is all I've ever dreamed of," said Mayra, a DREAMer from Homestead. "I am honored to be able to attend this special event and hope President Obama and Congress will make it a priority to reform the laws that will allow people, like myself, a chance to share in the American dream and greatly contribute to it.”
