Miami Dade College’s School of Education to Host Inaugural Master’s Degree Fair April 23

Miami, March 10, 2014 - Miami Dade College’s (MDC) School of Education is holding its first ever Master’s Degree Fair at 5 p.m., Wednesday, April 23, at the College’s InterAmerican Campus. Recruiters from 11 universities from South Florida and throughout the state will be on site to discuss advanced degree opportunities. The event is open to current MDC School of Education students, alumni and the working media.

Now in its 10th year, MDC’s Bachelor of Education degree program has produced nearly 1,400 teachers, 80 percent of whom pursue master’s degrees upon graduation. The fair will help inform current students and alumni of in-state, public, private and online graduate programs that will help further their education and career potential.

“Our graduates are well-trained to enter the teaching profession once they graduate from MDC, but there are many career and economic incentives for them to earn a master’s degree. This fair will open the door to a great deal of opportunities,” said Dr. Susan Neimand, director of the School of Education.

Universities that will be represented at the Master’s Degree Fair include:

·         University of Central Florida (online program)

·         Florida State University (online program)

·         Florida International University

·         University of Miami

·         Barry University

·         University of Florida (online program)
