Miami Dade College’s Tower Theater to Present National Premiere of Alien Abduction April 3

Miami, April 1, 2014 - Miami Dade College’s(MDC) historic Tower Theater will present the national premiere of Alien Abduction, directed by local filmmaker Matty Beckerman, at 9:30 p.m., Thursday, April 3. A Q&A session with Beckerman, as well as Robert Lewis (screenwriter) and Cathy Beckerman (co-producer), will follow the film.

A sci-fi thriller inspired by dramatic found footage, Alien Abduction preys on the fear of the unknown as audiences follow an average American family that finds itself in the wrong place at the wrong time. While driving to a campsite in the Brown Mountains of North Carolina, the Morris family’s GPS malfunctions and they are lead to a remote tunnel surrounded by abandoned vehicles. When their attempts to alert the authorities are intercepted by extraterrestrials, the members of the family find themselves under siege.

The film stars Katherine Sigismund, Corey Eid, Jillian Clare, Jeff Bowser and Riley Polanski and is co-produced by Lawrence Bender (Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Inglorious Bastards) and Mike Fleiss (Hostel, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Bachelor).  

Alien Abductionwill play at the Tower Theater exclusively for its commercial run.

First opened in 1926, the Tower Theater at MDC has been dubbed as one of the “10 great places to see a movie in splendor” by USA Today.  The Tower Theater experience, which is at the center of Little Havana’s cultural renaissance, is a must for film and art lovers. It is located at 1508 SW 8th Street.
