Your Vote Is Your Voice

I want to take this opportunity to encourage you to vote in the upcoming elections. As our most fundamental democratic privilege, voting is every citizen’s opportunity to contribute to the democratic process and the progress of our state and community. In the coming weeks, Florida will conduct its primary and statewide general elections. The dates are as follows:

Primary Election: September 5
General Election: November 7

Many local municipalities will also choose mayors and council members on a variety of dates in the months ahead. Click on http://election.dos.state.fl.us/online/elecdate.shtml to find the date of your local election.

Several early voting sites will be available to avoid the rush on Election Day. Visit http://elections.miamidade.gov/voting_absent_earlyvoting-sites.asp for more information.

Remember Your Voter Identification. You must present your voter identification card and a picture ID. Acceptable photo IDs include Florida Driver’s License, State of Florida official ID, United States passport, or employee ID.

Last but not least, if you are a U.S. citizen and have not registered to vote, please do so as soon as possible. Click on this website for further information: http://election.dos.state.fl.us/regtovote/regform.shtml

Please take this opportunity to participate in our nation’s political process. Only through our participation can we create a vibrant and responsive democracy.

Thank you.

Eduardo
