A Year of Hope and Possibility
I wish each of you a warm welcome back to MDC. It's wonderful to have your energy on our campuses again as we begin the 2006-07 academic year.
A new year serves as a reminder, perhaps obvious but worthy of constant repetition: MDC offers an invaluable contribution to our community and to the individual lives of countless people. The opportunity to learn, in a safe and collegial environment, has never been more important. Just as conflict and tragedy around the globe demand our attention, we continue to offer an avenue toward knowledge and understanding. People from every corner of our community and over 150 countries demonstrate the hope and possibility in higher education.
Your efforts, as always, deliver that opportunity. With our students, you generate the most creative and exciting college environment in the country. 2006-07 promises to be a very special year.
