MDC To Launch New Homepage

When we say “opportunity changes everything,” the all-important first step is access to the College’s programs and services. Needless to say, in this new age of information technology, our college website offers a critical portal to educational opportunity.

I am very pleased to introduce MDC's new homepage. It has been redesigned along with 80 additional support pages. You will notice that the homepage is a lot simpler and while it offers fewer links, it also offers an ease of focus. Visitors to the sight are greeted by links that reflect the primary aspects of MDC’s mission.

To make it easy to find pages on the new site, a page locater document is available for your use.

This work represents Phase I in an overall refresh of our very large website. Additional efforts include a website for prospective students, to be launched early next year; refresh of campus homepages, schools and disciplines; and the development of a College intranet. In all aspects, our intention is to create pages that foster access in the most welcoming and effective manner.

We plan to maintain the existing MDC homepage for the next three weeks while our personnel and students orient to the new homepage. A link to the new homepage will be available during this period on our existing homepage. The official launch is scheduled for the week of December 10.

This project has been a joint effort of the Office of Communications and the College’s information technology professionals. Thanks are due to all the people in those departments who contributed to the website’s development. Should you have any questions, please write to Andrew Seaga, College Webmaster, at mdcweb@mdc.edu.

Thank you.

Eduardo
