MDC Welcomes New Members to District Board of Trustees

Governor Charlie Crist has appointed two new trustees and community leaders to Miami Dade College's Board. They are prominent Miami attorney Mirta "Mikki" Canton, shareholder at Gunster Yoakley Attorneys at Law, and Benjamin Leon III, president and COO of Leon Medical Centers. I would like to welcome Trustees Canton and Leon to the MDC family.

I am also pleased to announce that Governor Crist has reappointed MDC Trustee Marielena Villamil. Trustees Canton, Leon and Villamil join Trustees Helen Aguirre Ferré (Chair), Hank Klein (Vice Chairman), Armando Bucelo, Jr. and Peter Roulhac to form our seven-member Board.

On behalf of MDC, I would like to thank outgoing Trustees Cesar Alvarez and Carolina Calderín for their outstanding service to the College.
