Summer Programs for Kids and Teenagers

Miami Dade College campuses across the community are offering an array of exciting summer programs to fill the gap between now and the beginning of the new school year.

Educational and fun, the campus programs offer kids the chance to customize their own schedule, morning and/or afternoon, with courses ranging from art, dance, exercise and fitness to chess, cooking and test preparation

MDC's Summer Camps, which are available through August, allow children to enjoy summer vacation in a fun and safe environment. Participants have the option of exploring Florida's magnificent ecosystems in a unique, nine-acre natural preserve during Science and Nature Camp; taking up swimming, arts and crafts, computers, storytelling or science experiments during Wild Things Happen Summer Camp; or recording a music CD and performing a live concert at Rock Camp.

The Summer Arts Academy at the New World School of the Arts is now accepting applications from 11th and 12th grade students who wish to hone their skills under the personalized guidance of professional artists and faculty members. The two-week sessions will be held from June 4-15, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Please view the complete Community Education 2007 Summer Term Catalog for information on specific programs at the campus nearest you.

Have a wonderful and safe summer.

Thank you.

Eduardo
