Contribute to the Success of MDC's Strategic Plan at Conference Day 2008

Miami Dade College's Conference Day will be held at Kendall Campus on Thursday, March 6, 2008. Registration begins at 7:15 a.m., with opening ceremonies at 8:30 a.m., and continued programming through 4:30 p.m.

Conference Day brings us all together, face-to-face, and good things always happen. Themed "One College...Learning, Dreaming and Achieving," this year's program is built around the five pillars of MDC's Strategic Plan: Access to the College, Student Achievement and Success, Serving the Community, Resource Development and Allocation, and Employees and the College. Conference Day 2008 presents opportunities for participating in discussions and expanding opportunities, and most importantly, becoming an involved stakeholder in making this plan a reality in our day-to-day operations.

All concurrent sessions this year are related to the College's Strategic Plan. New this year, are "Invited Sessions," which have been developed by the College's Strategic Plan Champions to feature key issues or topics from the plan. The Invited Sessions are open to all interested attendees.

Conference Day is considered a work day and all full-time College employees are expected to attend. The morning programs offer a variety of choices and the afternoon sessions are developed by departments, disciplines or areas, for employees within those groups.

More than 500 colleagues contribute to the success of Conference Day, and I would like to extend a special thank you to CTD District Director Marie Nock; Director of Conference Day, Leigh Hardaway; the Conference Day Planning, Logistics and Vendor Fair Committees; and all of the presenters, volunteers, consultants, vendors and internal work groups for their work in making Conference Day 2008 possible.

Thank you.

Eduardo
