MDC Garners "Great Colleges to Work For" Distinction for Fourth Straight Year

Each year, Miami Dade College receives numerous honors for our outstanding programming, operations, faculty, staff and students. We can proudly add to that list of accolades, as The Chronicle of Higher Education, for the fourth year in a row, named MDC to its Great Colleges to Work For program.

For the third time in four years, the College also made the Chronicle's Honor Roll, a distinction given to institutions cited most often across all of the recognition categories. MDC was recognized in six categories: Collaborative Governance; Professional/Career-Development Programs; Confidence in Senior Leadership; Supervisor or Department-Chair Relationship; Respect and Appreciation; and Diversity. The College is the only institution of higher education in South Florida named to the list, and joins Duke, Notre Dame, Baylor and other prestigious institutions on the list of colleges recognized.

The Chronicle's two-part assessment process consisted of an institutional audit that collected demographics and workplace policies and practices, and a survey administered to a randomly selected group of hundreds of administrators, adjunct and full-time faculty, and professional-support staff. More than 46,000 college employees and nearly 300 institutions nationwide participated in the application process.

The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was the feedback collected from faculty and staff members, and I would like to thank everyone who took part in the application process. As always, this achievement is possible only through our dedicated faculty and staff. You make MDC a great college to work for, and it is my privilege to work among such outstanding colleagues.

Thank you for everything you do to make MDC the best college in the nation.

Eduardo
