Miami Dade College Partners With NBC to Expand Digital Learning Resources
Miami Dade College is entering into a new partnership with the educational arm of NBC to provide digital learning resources that will significantly expand learning opportunities at the College. Beginning in the fall, this innovative collaboration will provide MDC students, faculty and staff subscription access to the award-winning resources of NBC Learn — including more than 12,000 3-6 minute video clips, as well as documents, images and other resources specifically designed for classroom use.
MDC students will have access to NBC Learn through the College portal and through library databases. The program will also provide faculty with primary source materials, lesson plans and classroom planning resources, and additional text and image resources from NBC’s content partners.
I would like to thank the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, The Miami Foundation and the Marlins Foundation for their generous support in making this invaluable resource available to MDC. NBC Learn will allow the College community to acquire a deeper awareness of the forces that shape our world. Granting our students, faculty and staff access to historic and current events brings understanding and depth, as well as immediacy and relevance, to learning.
We will officially launch the program soon with a special training session for faculty and students. We will share the training schedule with you as soon as it becomes available.
