Mr. Pereira has been a teacher for 11 years. The first 6 years of his career he taught at Doral Academy Charter High School, where he started the Advanced Placement U.S. History program.  There he served as an assistant football coach, and was named 2006-07 Teacher of the Year. He then taught 5 years at Miami Central Senior High School, where he continued to teach A.P. U.S. History. He served as the head of the Social Studies Department, and was named 2012-13 Teacher of the Year. He earned his M.A. in history through the teaching American History grant and his thesis focused on the history of Hialeah’s political evolution. He has dedicated his life to the advancement of young minds and is doing everything possible to ensure that each of his students fulfills their potential. His passion for education and the growth of students has led him to the School for Advanced Studies, where he currently teaches Advanced Placement U.S. Government, A.P. Comparative Government, and A.P. U.S. History.
