Aaron Rosenfeld (SAS Class of 2016) Selected for Summer Science Research at University of Florida

Miami, August 3, 2015 - Aaron Rosenfeld, a senior in the SAS Class of 2016 at MDC Wolfson Campus, completed a very special summer program at the University of Florida last week. This Student Science Training Program at UF (UF-SSTP) was held from June 7 to July 26, 2015. It is a seven week residential research participation program for academically talented upper level high school students interested in pursuing a career in a STEM field and is held on the campus of UF in Gainesville each summer.

Aaron worked 30 hours a week with a UF faculty mentor in an authentic laboratory experience. He also had the opportunity to interact with eminent scientists, engineers, and scholars in a three-credit hour Honors Seminar in Scientific Inquiry. Aaron worked with Dr. Jorg Bungert in the College of Medicine at UF on work entitled Location of the Human Locus Control Region in a Transgenic Mouse and the Region's Effect on Gene Expression.
