Melany Hernandez Chosen for Amherst Weekend Program

Miami, September 2, 2016 - Melany Hernandez, a senior at School for Advanced Studies North Campus, has been selected by Amherst College for an all expense paid visit to the school in western Massachusetts. Melany will by flown up to Amherst in late September for the Diversity Open House (DIVOH) Program.

Melany will attend a special presentation by faculty and attend regularly scheduled classes with current Amherst students. She will also spend two evenings in the residence halls to gain a better understanding of the campus environment. Amherst invites a small group of students to participate in this program each fall who demonstrate the potential to contribute to the cultural and/or socioeconomic diversity of the college.
