Romeo Umana Selected for Special Programs

Romeo Umana.

Miami, October 8, 2014 - SAS Senior Romeo Umana was recently selected for two very special programs available to high school students. This past summer Romeo was selected as one of only two students in the nation by Stanford University in California for a summer college prep program valued at $10,000. He was able to take undergraduate college courses at Stanford during the summer where all tuition, airline tickets, room and board were paid for by the QuestBridge organization.

This month he will fly to Massachusetts for a shorter program of the same nature at Williams College. Romeo will be graduating from SAS in June already having earned a two year Associate in Arts degree from Miami Dade College. He is hoping to attend one of the top tier schools such as Stanford or Williams in the fall of 2015.
