SAS Competes at Statewide Science Olympiad in Orlando.

Science Olympiad

Miami, March 28, 2016 - SAS AP English teacher Mary Seamans accompanied 17 SAS Kendall students and several SAS parents on a trip to Orlando on March 18-20 to compete in the statewide Science Olympiad. Sebastian Lopez, Ram Medam, and Thomas Brockland (in attached photo) were trophy recipients in the categories of "Astronomy" and "Green Generation."

Although SAS does not teach Science as one of its academic subjects, many of the SAS students take Science courses through dual enrollment at Miami Dade College. Even though Ms. Seamans is not a Science teacher, she has sponsored the SAS Science Olympiad Club for many years and the students at SAS are deeply appreciative to her for devoting her free time so that students may compete in these weekend competitions.
