SAS North Student Wins $750.00 scholarship from Youth Leadership Miami

Melany Hernandez

Miami, March 29, 2017 - Youth Leadership Miami’s mission is to cultivate young leaders from all segments of our community by educating, developing and encouraging them to become actively engaged in the community -- today and in the future.

During the organization's two-day conference held on March 24-25, 2017, participating teens from Miami-Dade County public and private high schools expanded their awareness of the community and broadened their personal experiences, as well as explored future professional goals.

Melany Hernandez, SAS North Campus senior, went to the conference and was awarded a $750.00 scholarship due to her engaging participation and outstanding academic credentials. She left  the program with new friends, leadership skills and a sense of pride and ownership of her South Florida community.

The two day event took place at Florida International University Biscayne Bay Campus, Kovens Conference Center 3000 N.E. 151st Street, North Miami, FL 33181. Melany is pictured in the attached photo wearing her Youth Leadership Miami t shirt.
