Rosario Vidales is a high school senior graduating in the Class of 2012 at School for Advanced Studies (SAS) Homestead. However, before she even obtains her high school diploma, she will be receiving her Associate in Arts Degree from Miami Dade College (MDC). On April 28, 2012, Rosario will walk up to receive her diploma at the MDC Homestead graduation ceremony. She will not get her high school diploma until June 6, 2012 at Guzman Theatre when SAS Principal, Dr. Omar Monteagudo, presents her with her diploma from School for Advanced Studies.
Rosario is one of the eighty percent of the SAS Class of 2012 who will be getting their Associate in Arts Degrees from Miami Dade College. This month, MDC Homestead recognized Rosario's outstanding work in math by presenting her with the Annual Academic Excellence Award for 2012 in College Level Mathematics. Rosario Vidales is one of the top students at SAS Homestead and will be attending Florida International University in the fall.
Less than one percent of the high school students in the United States reach the level of Advanced Placement Calculus as a high school student. Rosario actually mastered that class as a high school junior at SAS last school year. This illustrates just how strong her math skills are. School for Advanced Studies and Miami Dade College Homestead are very proud of this exceptional young lady.
