SAS Kendall student Lisset Pino Interns with Broward Public Defender's Office

Miami, September 4, 2012 - School for Advanced Studies (SAS) student Lisset Pino was selected this summer to participate in a highly coveted internship with the Broward County Public Defender Office.

As a key member of the SAS Moot Court and Mock Trial team, Lisset was the only high school student from Miami who was given this opportunity. Lisset was able to attend real court cases such as the highly publicized Michael Brewer case and also was allowed to visit the medical examiner's office and learn how forensic autopsies are performed.

One of the most valuable experiences proved to be the mock trial that Lisset participated in with the help of the attorneys who work for the Broward Public Defender's Office.
