SAS North Student Leads College Admissions Informational Groups

Lauren Paulet and friends at SAS

Miami, December 1, 2016 - SAS North Senior Lauren Paulet is committed to sharing information about the college admissions process with as many high school students in Miami-Dade County as possible. Her project is called "Midway to Success" and she has enlisted a lot of her friends at SAS to help her carry it out.

Lauren has even created a website to get the word out.

Lauren says that "the ultimate goal is to encourage students in inner-city neighborhoods to attend college and provide them with the resources and information necessary to do so. We aim to achieve this goal by having successful high school seniors and alumni present to underclassmen (9th and 10th grade students) on the importance of high school and college preparation. By having students, themselves inform other students, vital college admissions information is effectively carried out that may otherwise be ignored when emanating from an adult."

Miami Dade College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award associate and baccalaureate degrees.
