We the People

The SAS "We the People" (WTP) 2015 Team competed in Orlando on January 23, 2015 with teams from schools from all around the state of Florida and came in as State Runner Ups in the competition.

"We the People" is promoted in Florida through the Florida Law Related Education Association. It is designed to help students discover the contemporary relevance of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The culminating activity is a competition which simulates a congressional hearing in which students "testify" before a panel of judges. Students demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of constitutional principles and have opportunities to evaluate, take and defend positions on relevant historical and contemporary issues.
