Miami Dade College paid tribute to former theatre professor and founder of Prometeo, Teresa Maria Rojas, at a dedication event at the Prometeo Theatre at Wolfson Campus on Sept. 2.
A plaque has been dedicated to Rojas and hung at the Prometeo Theatre.
Rojas, who retired in 2006, dedicated 33 years to MDC and its students. She has a deep ardor for theater, and gives all the credit to her students. Rojas calls them magicians.
“They were the foundation of the miracles that were created every time they stepped on the stage,” Rojas said.
Rojas has an educational background in theatre and psychology. She is currently working on a memoir. No release date has been set.
