Recently, the U.S. Department of Energy notified Miami Dade College’s School of Engineering and Technology that they received a $3 million grant to train students in the nuclear industry.

The grant is an eight-year grant. Students apply through the program to work in nuclear facilities and obtain scholarships and fellowships to attend.

“It’s wonderful,” said Director of Computers and Engineering Richard White. “The first part [students get] is tuition paid for and the second part is a fellowship paid for to work in the summer in the Department of Energy laboratories across the United States with professionals.”
