Miami Dade College alumna Alexandra de Armas has been hired as a morning associate producer for WCJB TV 20, the ABC affiliate in Gainesville.
De Armas, 21, who served as the North Campus Bureau Chief for The Reporter last year, is currently a junior majoring in telecommunications at the University of Florida.
“I am thankful for The Reporter and In Focus, where I was given the opportunity to work first-hand on being a reporter and strengthening all of the skills needed to succeed,” De Armas said.
De Armas, who aspires to become a national morning news anchor, has interned at CBS Miami, NBC 6 and Univision 23.
In addition, de Armas also currently works as a part-time news anchor at WUFT 5, a student-run TV station owned by the University of Florida.
