Lazaro Gamio Selected To Intern At National Geographic

Lazaro Gamio, The Reporter's first-ever art director, landed an information graphics internship this summer at National Geographic.
Gamio, 21, is currently an electronic media major at New World School of the Arts. He is responsible for creating The Reporter's entire design style during its infancy in October of 2010.
During his tenure at The Reporter, Gamio won seven design awards from the Florida College System Activities Association.
Today he is a freelance designer and a part-time online producer for The Miami Herald.
This past January, Gamio participated in the prestigious New York Times Student Journalism Institute in Arizona after being selected during a national search.
