Miami Dade College’s Veterans Affairs offices are available to assist all eligible U.S. Veteran students and dependents who are using their VA educational benefits to further their education. MDC’s VA staff can provide information about entitlements, filing claims to the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), and certifying enrollment at MDC.

Important Bulletins 
Chapter 33 – Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008
The Post 9/11 GI Bill provides financial support for education and housing to individuals with at least 90 days of aggregate service on or after September 11, 2001, or individuals discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. You must have received an honorable discharge to be eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill.

Emergency Payments for Veterans Awaiting VA Educational Benefits
Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki has authorized advance payments up to $3,000 for Veterans who have applied for VA educational benefits and who have not yet received their monthly education payments.
