Dear Student:

MDC-West will re-open on January 7, 2013 for the Spring Term (classes begin January 8th), and I am extremely pleased to share such good news with you! 

I should add that I take this opportunity to convey my most sincere appreciation to each of you for your patience and cooperation, particularly given the necessary transitions we made following the partial collapse of the parking structure under construction at MDC-West.  Whether you are currently at North Campus, Ronald Reagan Senior High School or the Kendall Campus, you are to be commended for continuing with your courses this term.

I must also tell you that much progress has been made at MDC-West as all required inspections have been conducted.  Therefore, the existing classroom facility will be ready for occupancy on January 7th, with the resumption of classes on January 8th.

In the meantime, I urge you to register for Spring Term classes if you have not already done so.  Our experience has been that MDC-West classes fill up very quickly. Students who procrastinate about registering, then find it challenging to get the MDC-West classes and schedule that are most beneficial and convenient.

As you know, MDC-West’s Student Services are temporarily located in Room 1256 (Building 1, Second Floor) of the North Campus.  Your academic advisors as well as your financial aid advisors are available to assist you with registration and related matters; I urge you to visit with them as soon as possible.  No appointments are necessary; simply walk-in and you will be directed to an available advisor.  Should you have any questions, you may call us at (305) 237-8000.
