During of August of 2005, 30 of our students along with three faculty/administrator chaperones traveled to Spain for a two week visit. The program - entitled CAJA Madrid-MDC Hispanic Heritage Study Tour was co-sponsored by the CAJA Madrid Bank and Miami Dade College. Students participated in an intensive study in Spain, lectures, seminars, tours, governmental visits and cultural events in Madrid, Toledo, and Segovia/Pedraza.
This program was designed to acquaint students with the rich history and culture of Spain, the influence of Spanish culture throughout the world, and the unique Spanish heritage shared by peoples of this hemisphere. It was designed to allow students to participate in an intensive experiential learning program intended to reconnect those of Spanish Heritage in the Americas with Spain.
