Medical Assisting (Vocational Credit Certificate)
Testing
Students applying to the Medical Assisting Program must complete the Test of Adult Basic Education (T.A.B.E.). Contact the Testing Center at the Medical Campus by calling 305-237-4275 or the Testing Center at any of the other MDC campuses for the testing schedule for the T.A.B.E. Test.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or G.E.D to participate in the T.A.B.E. test. Students who have earned an Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Associate in Applied Science, a higher degree, or have passed all content areas of the Computerized Placement Test (CPT) on their first attempt are exempt from the T.A.B.E. Test.
You must score a minimum of 8 on all parts of the TABE prior to enrolling in the program and you must score at least 10 on all subjects (Math, Reading, Languages) before program completion. Students who have earned an A.A degree or higher. Students who have passed the College Placement Test (CPT) on their first attempt are exempted from the TABE test.
