Nursing Accelerated Option: Pre-Select Curriculum

Selection is based on the students' cumulative grade point average (GPA) and successful completion of prerequisite courses. Students who are currently enrolled in all prerequisite courses of the chosen option are also eligible for selection.

Pre-Admission Courses (Total 30 credits required)

1. General Education Courses (15 credits required)

A baccalaureate degree or higher from an accredited institution in the United States will exempt student from general education courses. Graduates from schools outside the United States must complete the following general education courses:

Additional Requirements

Student must successfully complete CGS 1060 (Intro to Microcomputer Usage) or have a passing score on the Computer Competency test.

Student with at least a baccalaureate degree in the United States must take the reading portion of the CPT and score 78 or higher. Student with at least a baccalaureate degree abroad must take all portions of the CPT and score at college level.

Students with a foreign degree must complete successfully MAT 1033 or any higher college level math course or score on the CPT math at college level.

Student must complete the General Education/Science courses before starting the Accelerated Option program.

Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 is required.

2. Natural Science/ Mathematics Area (15 credits required)

A total of at least 15 semester credits in the Natural Science/ Mathematics area (College level) which must include the following courses (or their equivalent):

Additional Information

Students with 3 or more grades of “D”, “F”, or “W” in required Natural Science courses are not eligible for entry in the Associate Degree Nursing program. Students are also required to have no more than two (2) enrollments (D, F, W) for any individual natural science course for the program. Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 is required.

Student should take at least one (1) Human Anatomy & Physiology course lecture without lab if their Anatomy courses were taken more than ten (10) years ago.
