Prior to requesting permission from a copyright holder to reproduce a work for classroom use please follow these steps:
Journal articles or other Print Material

Go to www.copyright.com which is the web site of the Copyright Clearance Center.

Click on the search button.

Search your journal title or article title to see if educators have been granted permission for use.

If permission is needed, register for free and you may use their service to obtain permission for use.
Or
Print out and complete the Permission to Reproduce a Copyrighted Work (PDF Format).
Audio-Visual Materials (Images, Video clips, Slides, etc.)

Click on http://www.mdcc.edu/medical/library/copyright2.asp and review the links under the Additional Resources to determine whether your use of the copyrighted material constitutes fair use under copyright law.

If you have determined that you need permission, print out and complete the Permission to Reproduce a Copyrighted Work (PDF Format) .

You may also use the form a publisher, author or institution has inserted in their material to grant permission for use.
