PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!     It is the student's responsibility to contact the institution where you plan to use CLEP credits or where you plan to take the exam if any question exists concerning the acceptability of CLEP scores or availability of exams.  CLEP centers which are LIMITED administer CLEP exams only to their own students.  OPEN centers administer exams to the general population.  Access the College Board website at:  http://http://apps.collegeboard.com/cbsearch_clep/searchCLEPTestCenter.jsp to determine whether a site is OPEN or LIMITED.

All interested students are encouraged to see an academic advisor before registering for an examination. Although nearly 2,500 colleges and universities throughout the country accept credits earned through CLEP, many others do not or may require a different level of  competency.

How do I Schedule a CLEP exam?: (see also Steps to Follow for CLEP)
    Testing dates are usually scheduled for the last Friday of every calendar month (with the exception of August and December).  Please call the Testing Department for registration deadline dates and to reserve a seat. Allow a minimum of 6 months before re-taking any exam, otherwise your exam will not be scored.

How do I register and pay the MDCC Service Fee? ($15 per test):
    All completed applications must be submitted to the Testing office with a paid receipt from the Bursar's office. If the application is mailed in, a check or money order payable to Miami-Dade Community College must be included. This payment will be non-refundable/non-transferrable upon confirmation of a scheduled test date. Cash will only be accepted in person at the Bursar's office.

How much is the CLEP Fee? ($50 per test):
    On the day of the examination candidates are responsible for bringing a check or money order payable to CLEP, otherwise the EXAM WILL NOT BE ADMINISTERED AND THE $15 SERVICE FEE WILL BE FORFEITED.  Credit cards are also accepted (Visa, Mastercard and American Express).

About the Examinations:
    Up to 45 semester credits may be earned and applied toward graduation at MDCC through CLEP testing.  MDCC accepts credits earned through CLEP for the following examinations (see the CLEP Registration Guide for a complete listing of all other examinations):

The CLEP is only offered once a month and space is limited so please call in advance to schedule an appointment.
You must make an appointment for the CLEP exam by the deadline date.
Fill out the top part of the application on page13 in the Information for Candidates and Registration booklet (bring with you on the day of the exam).
Miami Dade Community College charges a $15 service fee which must be paid before the exam. This fee can be paid by using the Bursar Authorization form found in the information packet and submitting it to the Bursars office located in the first building, second floor. You will be given a receipt that you must bring to the Testing department the day of the exam.

  THE DAY OF THE TEST: The day of the exam, make sure to arrive 1 hour before your scheduled time You must bring a picture I.D., a $50 check made payable to CLEP or a major credit card and the $15 Miami-Dade application fee.
