Welcome to Miami Dade College. You have made a good choice by coming to the largest college in the United States. Now we want to make sure you take the right first steps toward success at the College.

The first task you need to complete is choice of a PROGRAM. Since we are a large and complex institution, many types of programs are available at the College. The following exercise will help you decide which of them is best for you. Program choice is the first step toward developing a life-long career, and one of the most important choices of your life. But don’t worry, you are free to change your program while in college, and the first year of study consists mostly of general education courses, which can be used toward completion of any program and toward any career.

If you are undecided about which career you’d like to prepare for, the Choices program on the site is helpful. It can’t tell you what to do with your life, but it does provide important information to help you narrow down your decision about a career. Just click on the website, go to Career Planning, and then to Florida Choices Planner. You can learn more about yourself, and about the careers that you are considering.

For assistance with the Choices program, or to consult with a career advisor, go to the Career Center in room 1164 at North Campus, or give them a call at 305-237-1044.
