Search Tips | Top
You may enter the author's name in the Author Search box or select from the other search options: Title, Advanced, Keyword, Authors by Type, or Literary-Historical Timeline.

If you select the Literary-Historical Timeline type of search, you will see a list of literary and political events that occurred during a time period in history.

Notice that you can select one of several blue links below the search types for an explanation of the system.  For example, if you click on Research Guide you will see an in-depth guide to preparing research papers, from conceptual beginning to citing resources.  Also, if you click on Encyclopedia of Literature you will access the Merriam-Webster's Encyclopedia of Literature online.

Once you enter an author's name, you will see that you can select from the following types of information about the author:  Biographies, Literary Criticism, Articles & Work Overviews, Bibliographies, Additional Resources, and the Literary-Historical Timeline.

Click on the blue link in a citation to see the full text of the document.  The document forms vary and may include periodical articles, essays, and excerpts from books.
