African American Women Writers of the 19th Century   This Digital Schomburg Collection at the New York Public Library is a full-text collection of 52 published works of African American Women Writers from the 19th to the early 20th century. Searchable by title, author or type.
American Verse Project   This ongoing project from the Unviersity of Michigan is an electronic archive of American poetry prior to 1920 (mostly 19th century poetry). One can search the database or browse by author.
Bartleby.com   From Bartleby.com this site provides online access to their many books including: Gray's Anatomy, World Factbook, Strunk's Elements of Style, The Harvard Classics Anthology and the 20 volume set of the Shelf of Fiction.
BookBrowser-the guide for avid readers   Over 6,700 book reviews arranged by genre, series and sequels. Includes links to other sources and reading lists (Oprah Winfrey) available on the web.
Booklist   The digital version of the American Library Association's magazine for reviewing books. This ongoing cumulative database is searchable starting with Vol. 94 (September 1, 1997).
BookWire   An online portal to the book industry. Find book reviews, best seller lists, latest news and links to other online journals such as Publishers Weekly.
Camelot Project - University of Rochester, The   An electronic database dedicated to Arthurian texts, images and information sponsored by the University of Rochester, New York.
Cervantes Project, The   The Cervantes Project, housed at Texas AM University, is a site dedicated to the life and works of Cervantes. Included is a Don Quixote Dictionary to aid in understanding classic Spanish terms.
Encyclopedia Mythica, The   An online encyclopedia on mythology, folklore and legends. It has a searchable database.
Folklore and Mythology Electronic Texts   Excellent links to online collections of folklore and mythology compiled by D. L. Ashliman at the University of Pittsburgh.
Gale's Glossary of Literary Terms   This literary glossary contains hundred of definitions and cross-references.
Glossary of Rhetorical Terms With Examples   A glossary of rhetorical terms listed alphabetically.
Golden Age of Spanish Sonets, The   This site is an ongoing project to translate into English the Golden Age Spanish sonets. Search poems by poet and by first line of poem.
Internet Public Library's (IPL) Online Texts Collection   This searchable database of public domain electronic books has over 17,000 titles that can be browsed by author or title.
IPL Online Literary Criticism Collection   This portion of the Internet Public Library offers over 2,500 links to critical and biographical sites covering major American and international authors. Some articles require payment before downloading.
IPL Pathfinder: Spanish Literature   The Internet Public Library (IPL) has an excellent listing of web resources for Spanish literature in addition to its tutorial on how to find Spanish literature information on the web.
Literary Resources - Feminism and Women's Literature   Part of the larger collection maintained by Jack Lynch from Rutgers University dedicated to sites on women's literature.

Mr. William Shakespeare and the Internet   A comprehensive site dedicated to the life, works, and times of William Shakespeare. It is sponsored by Palomar College in California.
New York Times Book Review, The   This is the online version of the New York Times Book Review Section.
Nobel Prize In Literature   The official site for the Nobel Prize in Literature. Find here the biographies of all Nobel Laureates since the prize's establishment in 1901.
Online Medieval & Classical Library, The   This site from the Berkeley Digital Library Sunsite is a comprehensive compilation of online literary works for Medieval & Classical Literature.
Oxford Shakespeare, The   This is the Bartleby.com online version of the 1914 Oxford edition of the "Complete Works of William Shakespeare."
Poetry & Literature Center of the Library of Congress   Find here links to selected poetry sites and information on the present and past U.S. Poet Laureates.
Project Gutenberg   The prototype site for many e-book collections, Project Gutenberg's collection of public domain E-books is searchable by author or title.
University of Virginia's E-book Library   This collection is a nicely produced web version of public domain e-books. Searchable alphabetically by author and includes a collection of illustrated classics.
