As a college student, you have control of your destiny. A college education not only prepares you for your chosen profession, it is also an important step in making you a more productive and contributing member of the society in which you live. Miami-Dade College takes great pride in offering a high quality and challenging learning environment that will expose you to a myriad of opportunities for discovery and personal growth. All direct entry from high school students are required to attend orientation session before registering for their first term.

 

New Student orientation Includes:
  • Meet your academic Advisor

  • Information on Educational Planning(I.E.P)

  • Introduction to college Resources

  • Registration for classes

Steps to Register for Orientation:
  1. Submit your Miami Dade College (MDC) application and Pay the $30.00 fee.

  2. Determine if you need to take a placement test:

    • If you place college-ready on the SAT, ACT or PERT and your test was taken no more than 2 years ago, you are not required to test.
      If you have taken the SAT or ACT, be sure to include MDC as a recipient (SAT school code: 5160 / ACT school code: 0770)

    • If you have not taken any placement test or do not place college-ready, please visit the MDC North Campus Testing Center (Room 1160).
      For information about test preparation, all exams offered and hours of operation, please visit our website at http://www.mdc.edu/north/newstudentcenter/testing.asp

  3. Once your application has been processed, be sure to set up your MyMDC account by visiting http://www.mdc.edu/current/

  4. Students will receive an e-mail notification with available dates for orientation. Please contact the New Student Center at MDC North Campus Room 1173 or by calling (305) 237-1149 or email us at nnsc@mdc.edu

Your enrollment at MDC is a contract between you and the college agreeing to become partners in ensuring your success.
