Report: STR950
Registration Appointments
Description: Registration appointments must be run before registration begins each term.
You use the RG RC AD (STR210P0) screen. If they are run for campus 0, it automatically
generates appointment dates for all selected students on all campuses.
As a minimum, you must run the job once each term for credit appointments and once each
term for non-credit students. After the job is run, you may see the number of appointments
generated for each category on panel 2. You may do this by using action code D, with the
term, campus and credit type. Then use <F11> to see panel 2 with the counts.
You may also see the appointment date and time for each student on the RG MT MT screen.
The report of "Registration Appointments Generated" for each run is sorted in student number
order and shows the following:
There is also an error report of appointments not generated for otherwise eligible students.
This should be reviewed, the errors corrected, and the students given a registration date on
the RG MT MT screen.
The running of this computer job creates the student term record for all continuing students. At
the same time, the SOAP code is copied from the previous term and the second position of the
enrollment code is changed to "C" if it had been an "N" or "R" in the previous term. The
residency code is also created from the previous term.
Specify: On the STR210P0 screen, you must specify the following:
After successfully adding the criteria, the job will run. When it has completed the run, by using
the <F11> key, you can see the number of appointments that would be generated if the Run
Option was a T, or the number of appointments that were generated if the Run Option was a
P.
Frequency: This report is normally run about one or two weeks prior to the start of STAR
Service and Web registration each term.
Retention: The report is produced automatically when the appointments are generated. It
doesn't appear to be very useful and is destroyed after 30 days.

Types of Holds (Hold Code) and Description of Holds that will prevent the student from registering.
Term - This is the term for which registration is about to begin and for which
appointments are being generated.
Campus - This is a one-digit campus code. If this is input as campus 0, then it will
generated appointments for all students, regardless of campus.
Credit Type - This must be either a "C" to generate registration appointments for all
credit students, or an "N" to generate registration appointments for all non-credit
(including PSAV) students.
Include Students Enrolled for Terms: _____ through _____ - Normally, if we are
generating registration appointments for credit students, we will use the four terms
immediately preceding the appointment term. For example, if we are generating
appointments for the 1999-3 term, we'd use 1998-3 through 1999-2. For non-credit, we
can use the preceding 12 terms. For example, if we are generating appointments for
the 1999-3 term, we'd use 1996-3 through 1999-2.
Run Option: This will be "T" for test if we only want to run the job to see how many
appointments would be generated for each category. This is a "P" for the final, real
production run. Successfully adding this record will submit the computer work order to
run computer job STS950J1.
Ctgry - This column allows the entry of 60 different categories of students. Each of
these categories can get separate appointment dates and times. However, each
student will only be given one appointment date and time for credit and another for
non-credit. At this time, we only use the one mandatory category (16) since all
students get the same appointment date and time. If we ever change our procedures,
we can use any or all of the following:
01
Non-degree seeking students
02
First time in college for the registration appointment term
03
Transient students (I'm not sure this works)
04
High school dual enrollees
05
Students who already have degrees
06
Students who have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA
07
Students
in a soap category other than clear (C0)
08
Students with special designators
09
Disabled students
10
Applicant for degree in one of the enrolled terms
11
Admitted into the program specified
12
ESL or ENS students
13
Prisoners
14
Suspended students (SOAP code of S1 or S2)
15
Dismissed students (SOAP code of S3 or S4)
16
Students with at least 999 credits (This is a required category with a value of 0)
17
Transfer students
18
Readmitted students for the registration term
Priority - This is a number from 01 to the number of categories used. For students
who fall into more than one of the categories, which category takes priority, since a
student will not be given more than one registration appointment date and time. For
our only category used at this time (16), we use priority 01.
Excl - If you want to exclude this category from appointments, use a Y in this column.
Otherwise, leave the default of N. For the only category we use (16), we use the
default value of N (not to exclude students in this category).
Prnt - If you want to print registration appointments for this category, change this to a
Y. Otherwise, the default value of N indicates that you don't want to print appointments
for this category. At this time, we always use the default value of N so that we don't
print appointments.
Appt Dt - This is the date for the student's registration appointment. You can enter
dates in the format MMDDYY but it will be reformatted with the date as MM/DD/YY.
Appt Tm - This is the time of the registration appointment. You may enter this as
HHMMA or HHMMP and it will be reformatted as HH:MM A or HH:MM P.
Value - This is the value used for the category, if appropriate. For example, in the only
category we use (16), a value of "0" indicates that we want to generate a registration
appointment for all students who have earned at least 0 credits.
