Access

The first access needed to our network is your Network ID. All full-time and part-time employees will have their Network ID automatically created within two business days of having their Miami Dade College Identification (MDID) assigned and their employment assignment entered in the system. There is no need to complete a security form for the Network ID. Email notification with login information is forwarded as follows:

All full-time and part-time employees Network ID is sent to their supervisor.
All student assistants Network ID is sent to the budget manager of the qual used on the assignment.

In the event a Network ID is not automatically generated please contact your local Campus Computing and Network Services Department, so they can review the security/account set-up and for these special exceptions they can complete a Network ID Review form.

All consultants must provide their driver's license and a copy of their agreement for services or proof of their need for network access in order to have a Network ID created. Please complete the consultant Access Form noted below.

All employees and consultants with Network ID's should be reminded that they must comply with all MDC policies and procedures governing the use and operation of MDC technology, including but not limited to MDC Policy VII-1 and MDC Procedure 7900. The referenced policies and procedures plus the security forms noted below are all in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. Adobe is standard on all MDC computers, or click on the Get Adobe Reader Icon to download it for free.

Once your Network ID is created you must complete the necessary access forms noted below for access to the applications on Linux. The following forms are used to request access to the various systems in Linux (Odyssey and ASTRA). Each form requires the approval of the systems area (Finance, Student, ASTRA) before access will be granted.
