Miami baseball team celebration on fieldMDC competes in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Florida Community College Activities Association’s (FCCAA) Southern Conference. Dozens of our baseball players have gone on to play in the major leagues. Former Sharks include Raul Ibanez with the Seattle Mariners, Mike Piazza with the San Diego Padres, and Placido Polanco with the Detroit Tigers. Beyond baseball, Antonio Pettigrew earned a gold medal in the men’s 4 x 400 relay in the 2000 Olympics.
The Lady Shark volleyball team has won the NJCAA national volleyball championship seven times and 17 players have been named All-Americans.  Come see tomorrow’s sports stars play or shine at MDC yourself.

Women’s sports include basketball, softball, and volleyball.
Men compete in basketball  and baseball.
