Refugee/Entrant Vocational Education Services Training (REVEST) Program

Post-Secondary Adult Vocational (PSAV) Programs

Vocational classes - Life after ESL

Many students who enter the R/EVEST program to study English continue their studies by enrolling in the Post-Secondary Adult Vocational (PSAV) Program. The vocational classes and books are free to R/EVEST students. These programs are designed for immediate job entry, and usually take between 12 and 18 months to complete.

In order to qualify for the program a student must pass Level 3 English. Students must pass the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) with a minimum score of 9 in Language, Reading and Math to receive a certificate. Students who score under 9 need a total of 24 points on the three tests, with a minimum score of 7 in any one area, to be admitted to the Vocational Program with the understanding that they must retest and pass with a score of 9 before they can graduate.
