Purpose

To provide vocational English for speakers of other languages (VESOL), employability skills, and post-secondary adult vocational (PSAV) certificate programs, and support services to refugee/entrants and Amerasians in Miami-Dade County who have been in the United States for 60 months or less. The 60 months are calculated from the client's date of arrival in the U.S.

The REVEST Program offers the following services free of charge (including the cost of tuition and books):
Individualized Educational Training Plan Preparation Advisors will gather information on participants to develop an educational plan in conjunction with the client's aspirations.
Assessment/Advisement Assessment will be conducted to determine placement in the appropriate training program. Advisement will be provided on a one-to-one basis throughout the course of study.
Educational Training Instructors will offer training in vocational English for speakers of other languages (VESOL), employability skills, including exposure to computer literacy, and concepts which relate to your new life in the United States. After completing VESOL training, participants will mainstream into GED workshops, the vocational skills lab or post-secondary adult vocational (PSAV) certificate programs.
Service Locations Miami-Dade Community College campuses and outreach center sites.
