Claudia Scalise holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from University of Miami and a bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Florida International University. Her background includes teaching painting and drawing for six years as an adjunct instructor at MDC and at University of Miami. Prior to her present full-time appointment, she chaired the Art Department at Palmer Trinity School in Palmetto Bay. For more than a decade, Ms. Scalise’s artwork has been featured in numerous solo and group gallery and museum exhibitions. Some of her most recent group shows have been at South Florida Art Center in Miami Beach, the galleries of Miami-Dade College, the Art Museum at Florida International University, Roder Studio on Hornby Island in British Columbia, and an exhibition of prints at the University of West Australia. She is currently represented by Dorsch Gallery in Miami, where she exhibits solo annually. In 2006, Scalise had three solo exhibitions, namely, "…for the life of me" at the Dorsch Gallery, "selected works" at the Miami Herald, and "Petit fours" at the Steven Clark Gallery at Government Center. in downtown Miami. She also participated in Chicago’s NOVA Art Fair. |
