Transfer Agreement Highlights
A.S. graduates from the Legal Assisting program at MDC will have the opportunity to earn a Baccalaureate and then continue to law school or enter a Master’s program. FGCU’s Legal Studies program has the advantage that it’s curriculum is offered traditionally, online, or in a combination of both. FGCU’s Legal Studies curriculum encompasses both generalist and specialist courses, as recommended by the American Bar Association.

As part of the acceptance into the BS in Biotechnology program, participating students must complete an AA degree at Miami Dade College, which includes the completion of certain program coursework as set forth in the Appendix of the articulation agreement.

FGCU will accept in transfer a maximum of 72 credit hours from MDC’s A.S. Legal Assisting program and MDC’s Associate in Arts degree in Biotechnology. Once accepted at FGCU, the student will need to complete a minimum of 48 credits at FGCU at a 3000 level or higher.
Scholarships
Florida Gulf Coast University offers a variety of scholarships based on need, merit and other criteria. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for competitive scholarships and other financial aid opportunities, such as: the University Foundation Scholarships, PTK Scholarship, Minority Community College Transfer Scholarship, the Latin American-Caribbean Scholarship (for international students).

Students are encouraged to complete the Florida Gulf Coast University Foundation Scholarship Application. The online application is available from November 15 through March 15 each year.
