The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program provides learning experiences that enable the student to acquire and assimilate the necessary technical competencies to function effectively as an EMT responding to medical emergencies in the pre-hospital environment.
An Emergency Medical Technician is the intermediate care practitioner in Emergency Medical Services. These individuals are the first to arrive on the scene and provide the initial assessment and direct patient care in the pre-hospital environment, as well as in emergency rooms, clinics, and ambulance services.
The Phlebotomy Technician (PT) program offers a strategic, workforce-responsive solution to Florida’s growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals in diagnostic services. The Primary Care Technician for EMT (PCT) program prepares students for career opportunities in the areas of Community Paramedicine, health prevention, health behavior, and disease prevention. Students learn a variety of skills and strategies that will provide them with the necessary proficiencies to improve population health in diverse settings.
