The three (3) programs listed below will be offered at NO COST to participants through a partnership with the Lennar Foundation. Through this partnership students will receive tuition, books, uniform, and background check.

Lennar Scholarship Selection Criteria

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must have applied to the college and have a current MDC student number.
  • Must be admitted to one of the eligible programs listed.
  • Proof of in-state residency
  • Pass a criminal background check.
  • Commit to finishing the program.
  • Attend mandatory orientation.
  • Must complete a FAFSA Application.

  • Course Textbooks in digital format (Shark Pack) where applicable

  • Tailored orientation
  • Academic support with a personal academic advisor
  • Holistic Student Support Services (Financial literacy workshops, mental health counseling, access to campus food pantry, free income tax preparation, public benefits screening through Single Stop Services)

Central Sterile Processing Technician

The Central Sterile Processing Technician program provides learners with the transferable skills required for entry-level employment in hospitals or surgical out-patient centers.

A Central Sterile Processing Technician maintains the cleanliness, functionality and inventory of healthcare instrumentation and equipment. They ensure that patients avoid infections, and that doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals can access the instrumentation and equipment they need immediately.

Emergency Medical Technician

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program provides learning experiences that enable the student to acquire and assimilate the necessary technical competencies to function effectively as an EMT responding to medical emergencies in the pre-hospital environment.

An Emergency Medical Technician is the intermediate care practitioner in Emergency Medical Services. These individuals are the first to arrive on the scene and provide the initial assessment and direct patient care in the pre-hospital environment, as well as in emergency rooms, clinics, and ambulance services.

Endoscopy Technician

The Endoscopy Technician program provides students with the transferable skills required for entry-level employment as a member of the Surgical Services healthcare team in hospitals or surgical out-patient centers.

An Endoscopy Technician is responsible for preparing the operating room and the equipment; providing support to physicians and nurses while the procedure is underway; and troubleshooting any issues pertaining to endoscopes, an instrument with a camera attached to its end. The Endoscopy Technician also plays an important role among the gastroenterology team throughout the endoscopy procedure by helping to prepare materials, obtain specimens, and maintain a sterile field during the procedure as they ensure that all equipment is functioning properly.

LPN

The Licensed practice nurse (LPN) is an integral part of the healthcare team who practices under the direct supervision of the registered nurse, licensed physician, or health care provider.  The scope of practice includes both preventative and curative care including treatments and defined medications.
