Alexander Freund

Alexander Freund

Alexander Freund is a serial entrepreneur and 36-year veteran of the technology industry. A degreed computer scientist, Alex started his career as an industrial software engineer for the Dow Chemical Corporation. After numerous technical and engineering positions working for large corporations, Alex started his own software development company in 1989. After building a multi-million dollar VAR (value added reseller) in the 1990’s, Alex co-founded  4it in 2003 with the stated goal to bring enterprise class infrastructure, IT management, and IT support to small and medium businesses. Alex has been recognized as an industry expert in cybersecurity, particularly as it applies to small and medium organizations, and has spoken extensively on the subject.  He was honored in 2014 as the Apogee CIO of the year in South Florida Business and Wealth magazine, and in 2015 as the CIO of the year in the South Florida Business Journal.  He has also spoken extensively on cryptocurrency and cybersecurity, including presentations to the MBA program at the University of Miami, the South Florida Association of Financial Professionals, the South Florida Executive Roundtable, and the Entrepreneurs Organization. Freund attended Tulane University as a double major in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and received a B.S. in Computer Science from Florida International University.
