The Fast Track to a Job in Construction

Get certified to work in construction in 10 weeks at no cost.

Miami Dade College and the Lennar Foundation have launched MDC Builds, a program that prepares students for entry-level construction jobs. Employment for construction laborers and helpers is expected to grow 12% between 2016-2026 (faster than average) according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Join an Industry with Growing Demand

This is a 10-week program that is offered at no cost to the student. The program includes classroom instruction and hands-on training. In addition to the free training, students are provided with transportation vouchers and meals.

The next cohort begins October 12, 2020 and it will be Fully online.

Students may choose either an afternoon or morning option.

  • Morning session – 10:00 am – 2:00 pm (Monday – Friday)
  • Evening session – 5:00 – 9:00 pm (Monday – Friday)

  • OSHA training and certification
  • carpentry
  • electrical systems
  • construction math and
  • other essential skills needed in the ever-growing Florida construction industry

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be 18 years old and unemployed or underemployed.
